Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide first level technical support. He/She will respond to end user inquiries regarding trouble with networks, platforms, servers and applications.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide a single point of contact for end users to ensure proper computer operation so that the user can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end-user help request.
  • Work with customers to understand requirements and expectations and to respond to questions from users
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone and electronically.
  • Enter requests service desk application
  • Prioritize requests appropriately
  • Apply problem solving and trouble shooting techniques to inquiries received from users regarding hardware, software, hardware and networking services
  • Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware and other equipment
  • Assign incidents requiring in depth analysis to appropriate level 2 group for resolution
  • Follow standards service Desk operation procedures
  • Manage entire resolution process for user incidents
  • Present and explain IT Support Policies

Team Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled service desk team calls
  • Assist in training new employees on the use of service desk software, hardware and applications and other networked equipment
  • Pro-actively support IT and customer support changes and initiatives
  • Manage assigned projects to completion and meet deadlines

Skill Set Required:

  • Knowledgeable regarding computer hardware, software, including the interconnections of components, computer systems and peripherals
  • Knowledgeable regarding basic computer software applications including Operating systems, MS Office application, E-mail, internet and multimedia technology and database structure design
  • Knowledgeable with networking as well as in configuring and using various mail clients and IP based desktop connections to an Ethernet network
  • Working knowledge of hardware and applications not limited to, but including Windows 2003 server, Windows XP and Windows 2007.
  • Professional and MS Office 2007/2010
  • Preferred experience of Service Desk and Support Applications
